Ikwerre Council Chairman Promises Support for Community Activities to Curb Insecurity

The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Charles Wobodo, has pledged the council’s support for community-driven initiatives aimed at reducing insecurity within the area.

Wobodo gave the assurance when the Isiokpo Bicycle Carnival Committee paid him a courtesy visit at the council secretariat in Isiokpo. He commended the committee for their effort in organizing the carnival ahead of the festive season, noting that such activities help promote peace, unity, and social cohesion in the community.

According to the council boss, events like the Isiokpo Bicycle Carnival provide an opportunity for residents to come together in celebration, thereby strengthening communal bonds and discouraging criminal activities. He further promised that the council would fully support the upcoming carnival, which is geared towards entertaining the people during the festive period.

Earlier, the leader of the committee, Marswell Ohochukwu, said the visit was to formally inform the chairman about the December 2025 Isiokpo Bicycle Carnival and to seek the council’s support to ensure the success of the event.
