Inhabitants of the predominantly farming community want the State Government to apply measures to stem the tide of criminality in the area and improve their security.
The Chairman of Edegelem Community Development Committee, PROMISE NWIGWE, particularly want the government to give special security attention to Umuometa and Umulu villages.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent, NWIGWE recounted how many inhabitants of Edegelem had fallen victims to criminals operating in the area.
The community leader also dismissed claims in some quarters that those who are mainly affected by the attacks by criminals are strangers and tenants.
He noted that ongoing developments in Igbo-Etche has attracted investments as well as the negative consequences of social vices
