HYPREP warns against sabotage of water facilities

The warning comes on the heels of the Flag-off of multi-Billion Naira Potable Water Projects by the Federal Government for oil impacted communities of Ogoni land in line with the recommendations of the United Nations Environment Program Report.

 

 

 

The Chairman Board of Trustees of HYPREP, Doctor MIKE NWIELAGHI who gave the warning was speaking during a meeting with the Buan Council of Chiefs in Khana Local Government Area where he attributed the lack of sustainable functional Potable Water Facility in Ogoni land to acts of sabotage of public utility.

 

 

 

The HYPREP boss also called on benefitting Communities of the Federal Government Potable Water Projects in Ogoni land, including Ogoni Traditional Rulers and Community Leaders to compliment the good intention of the government by taking ownership of the projects.

 

 

 

Other Ogoni stakeholders who were at the meeting including a member of the Governing Council of HYPREP, Celestine Akpobari, Senator Magnus Abe who was represented at the event by his ally Kadilo Kabari amongst others spoke on the expectations and significance of the appointment of an indigene of the oil impacted communities from Ogoni as Chairman Board of Trustees of HYPREP.
