House Of Representatives Investigates New Director General Of National Emergency Managment Agency

The notice of investigation was contained in a letter addressed to the Management of NEMA as well as the Staff Union by the Clerk of the House Committee, SULYMAN MOHAMMED SARKIN-NOMA.
The move is in response to an industrial action embarked upon by NEMA staff who accused MUSTAPHA MAIHAJA of high-handedness, maladministration and corruption.
The Committee has convened a meeting today with the NEMA Director General, the Management team and representatives of the workforce, which is billed to take place at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
Meanwhile; the aggrieved NEMA workers have agreed to curtail their indefinite strike following the intervention of the Vice President, Professor YEMI OSINBAJO.
According to a report, the Vice President frowned at the manner in which the new NEMA boss was handling legitimate demands by the workers and ordered MAIHAJA to immediately engage in negotiations with the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria in conjunction with the Minister of Labour and Employment
