Bashorun, who spoke at the unveiling of the results of a pilot scheme carried out in Lagos and Abuja by the Society for Family Health, stressed the importance of self-tests and the need for all to know their status.
He added that the HIV self-testing kits will help in the quick identification of an individual’s HIV status.
The National Coordinator stated that the government in the last thirty years has helped treat HIV/AIDS by increasing treatment coverage.
According to the 2019 Nigeria National HIV/AIDS Indicator and Impact Survey, no fewer than one point nine million Nigerians are currently living with the virus.
