The Kano State Hisbah Board is set to destroy 4,920 bottles of beer recently seized by the Kano State Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA).
The alcohol was intercepted during night patrols on major streets in Kano, when three trucks carrying 410 cartons of beer were stopped. The seized drinks were handed over to Hisbah for destruction.
Officials said the action is part of efforts to enforce Sharia law in the state, which prohibits the sale and consumption of alcohol. KAROTA and Hisbah assured that the destruction will follow proper procedures.
