Health workers issue 15 days ultimatum to FG

This comes amidst the lingering strike by National Association of Resident Doctors.

In a statement signed by the President Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Biobelemoye Josiah and Acting Secretary Yusuf Kiyawa, and made available to newsmen, the group hinged the latest resolution on the nonchalance and biased attitude of the federal government over the plight of their members.

The Union in the strike notice which had the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and  Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige in copy, is demanding adjustment of consolidated health salary structure payment of withheld April and May, 2018 salaries of members, review of defective implementation of Covid 19 special inducement and hazard allowance  and others.

Biobelemoye who insisted that the strike is in compliance with the provisions of section 41 of the Trade Dispute Act of 2004, noted that the sufferings of workers are not appreciated.
