The incident is reported to have taken place on Saturday evening.
The bus which picked up passengers at the Choba junction was intercepted by the hoodlum and taken to unknown destination.
However there are reports that the driver was released while the other passengers were yet to regain their freedom.
The Rivers state police command is yet to speak on the incident.
