Guinean President ALPHA CONDE looks set to win another term in office.
Results released by the National Electoral Commission for the country’s presidential election on Sunday put President CONDE in the lead, with around eighty percent of the vote counted.
President CONDE is reported to have won around sixty percent of the vote so far, while his main opponent CELLOU DALEIN DIALLO has secured thirty percent.
CONDE needs to maintain the current lead and post at least fifty percent of the total vote in a bid to avoid a second round.
The electoral commission is expected to announce the final results today, which will require the ratified by the constitutional court.
