Governor WIKE made this known during a meeting at the Government House in Port Harcourt with proprietors of private medical facilities in the state.
The Governor observed that Rivers State would develop faster if fifty percent of government revenue is collected through the right channels.
According to a statement released by his Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Governor WIKE disclosed that some revenue agents connive with government officials to divert monies generated for the state.
Governor WIKE also acknowledged cases of multiple taxes and levies, which he said are not remitted to the state government coffers.
He informed that gathering that his administration was working towards streamlining the collection of government revenue where all payments would be made to a single bank account for easy monitoring.
For the time being; Governor WIKE directed private hospital owners not to pay multiple levies, pending the conclusion of the streamlining of payment of taxes to the Rivers State Government.
