The prisoners were released on the orders of the Chief Judge, Justice ADAMMA IYAYI LAMINKARA, in the spirit of the Rivers State Golden Jubilee celebration.
Our correspondent reports that some of the freed prison inmates had spent five years on awaiting trial and others who had been granted bail but unable to meet the conditions.
The Chief Judge advised them to turn embrace a new way of life by engaging in meaningful activities and avoid actions that could see them return to prison.
Correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA reports a total of one hundred and ten prison inmates have so far been freed by the Rivers State Government within one week.
