Gani Topba testifies in court against General Illa, others

 

Topba who spoke from a witness box, said General Illa had received cow on behalf of Iceland cult group as their leader and anchor head, during a peace process which he initiated in the community.

 

He said General Illa and members of his cult gang in 2019, after chasing indigenes of Zaakpo community, sold the community’s transformer, made the area their camp where their kidnap victims were harbored and killed.

 

Topba also told the court that he officially petitioned the Inspector General of Police, when General Illa, refused to submit arms and ammunitions as done by members of the peace and reconciliation by the leaders of the community.

 

The trial Judge, Justice Augusta Chukwu after listening to the witness, adjourned till 25th of July for continuation of cross examination of witnesses.

 

The four suspects who are facing four count criminal charge of murder, kidnap, cultism and possession of illegal firearms are alleged to have on the 5th of March, 2019 invaded Zaakpo community, kidnapped and killed a pharmacist, named Muanalo Sunday, despite collecting ten thousand naira as ransom from the family of the deceased.
