Reports say ROLAND DESIRE ABA’A MINKO was detained after he threatened state security, inciting rebellion and circulating fake news to undermine public order.
The state prosecutor STEEVE NDONG ESSAME NDONG told the AFP news agency that ABA’A MINKO threatened to blow up government property if President BONGO refused to step down within three days.
ABA’A MINKO is alleged to have pledged allegiance to JEAN PING as Gabon’s leader despite that he lost the disputed presidential election last year.
The detained opposition politician had entered the presidential race as an independent candidate before withdrawing in support JEAN PING.
