This may not be unconnected with an earlier threat by members of a faction of the Port Harcourt Unit of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria to withdraw their services following alleged harassment of some of their members at the depot.
Today FM’s Ifunanya Obeme-Ndukwe who monitored the situation reports that some filling stations have shut down operations.
An official of one of the major filling stations in Port Harcourt however hinted that petroleum tanker drivers may have also joined in the industrial action by the petroleum marketers.
Some customers who were waiting to buy petroleum products at the filling stations expressed disappointment over their situation.
