The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has described the ongoing construction of the Ngo-Atlantic-Oyorokoto Road as a bold and visionary initiative aimed at opening up the coastal region for economic development and harnessing the full potential of the state’s blue economy.
Governor Fubara made this known during an inspection visit to the project site in Andoni Local Government Area.
He explained that while the original plan focused on constructing a road linking Oyorokoto Town and its popular beach, his administration decided to expand the scope to create an entirely new route that would better connect the region and enhance accessibility.
The governor noted that, when completed, the project will not only improve access to several coastal communities but also boost tourism, trade, and other economic activities across the area.
Governor Fubara also visited Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area to assess the progress of work on the Epellema axis of the ongoing 5.2km Kalaibiama–Epellema Road project, reaffirming his commitment to delivering infrastructure that connects and empowers communities.
