Former president of Cote d’Ivoire, LAURENT GBAGBO is due to begin his trial for crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
GBAGBO is facing charges relating to the civil conflict that erupted in Cote d’Ivoire after he lost elections in 2010.
Seventy-year-old GBAGBO becomes the first former head of state to stand trial at the ICC in The Hague.
He accused alongside former militia leader CHARLES BLE GOUDE, who maintains innocence.
