At least three African leaders are attending the funeral ceremony in honour Kenyan soldiers who were killed in an Al-Shabab raid on an African Union base in Somalia on the 15th of January.President MUHAMMADU BUHARI joins his host, UHURU KENYATTA and Somalia’s HASSAN SHEIKH MOHAMOUD for the inter-faith memorial in the Kenyan town of Eldoret.Presidents BUHARI and MOHAMOUD are out to show solidarity with Kenya, for the supreme price of the soldiers to maintain security in Somalia.Although the authorities have remains silent on the number of soldiers killed in the raid, reports suggest that about one hundred Kenyan soldiers may have lost their lives in the attack in el-Ade, in the south-western region of Gedo.Kenyan troops have since abandoned the base and taken up position nearby, while the Al-Shabab militant group had said it was now fully in control of the town.
