Former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, has been sentenced to 75 years imprisonment by the Federal High Court in Abuja over the diversion of public funds amounting to about ₦33.8 billion.
The court found Mamman guilty of multiple charges bordering on money laundering and misappropriation of funds during his time in office. The judgment followed a prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
According to the court, the former minister unlawfully diverted funds meant for power sector projects and other government programmes.
