Former National Security Adviser, retired Colonel SAMBO DASUKI has failed to have the court to stop his trial on corruption charges.
This is because Justice HUSSEIN BABA-YUSUF of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory yesterday struck out an application by DASUKI, seeking to stop his trial.DASUKI had made the request to the court, citing the violation of his rights to bail by the Federal Government. However, Justice BABA-YUSUF held that the Federal Government was not in contempt of court because it was the Department of State Security Service that was detaining him, and not the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.DASUKI is facing charges of money laundering brought against him by the Federal Government, for which he had been granted bail, but re-arrested by the DSS on 29th of December.
