The appointment was made by President ALASSANE OUATTARA following DUNCAN’s resignation as Prime Minister on Monday.
The appointment is the latest in a series of new developments following the parliamentary elections won by the governing coalition and adoption of a new constitution.
President OUATTARA has also sacked the heads of security agencies in the country following last week’s mutiny at some barracks.
Meanwhile; a former rebel leader and ex-prime minister, GUILLAUME SORO, has been re-elected Speaker of Ivory Coast’s National Assembly.
SORO won election as an independent candidate against EVARISTE MEAMBLY from the ruling coalition.
