Justice UMEZULIKE is facing a four-count charge of non-disclosure of assets and false declaration of assets before Justice J. K. OMOTOSHO.
Among other charges; the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, claim that Justice UMEZULIKE, who is also a professor, failed to make disclosure of an asset situated within the Independence Layout in Enugu and thereby committed an offence in breach of provisions of the Economic and Financial Crimes Act.
But the former Enugu State Chief Judge pleaded not guilty to the charges, and thereafter his counsel, Professor UCHE-JACK OSIMIRI informed the court that he had filed an application for bail for his client.
Justice OMOTOSHO proceeded to grant bail to the defendant on self-recognition, in addition to the sum of two million naira.
