The former Commissioners and Council Chairman said Governor WIKE’s allegation of extortion against Dame JUDITH AMAECHI during his recent media interviews is false.
The position of the past public officials was contained in a statement jointly signed by former Commissioner of Sports, FRED MBOMBO-IGWE, and former Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government council, OJUKAYE FLAG AMACHREE.
The group also observed that Governor WIKE had since assumption to office, been pursuing a major agendum to tarnish the reputation of former Governor and Minister of Transportation, ROTIMI AMAECHI.
They noted that the incumbent Governor appears to be lacking in ideas and unprepared for the task of governing a heterogeneous state like Rivers.
They claimed that the current governor, while serving as the Chief of Staff to Governor AMAECHI, interfered regularly with Local Government Council Chairmen to commit unlawful acts.
They equally recalled that council chairmen and state officials were forced to contribute several millions of naira to WIKE as Chief of Staff under the pretext of fighting his legal battle with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission when he was arrested and tried for corruption.
Based on the foregoing, the former commissioners and council chairman said Governor WIKE is morally bankrupt and cannot point accusing fingers at the wife of the former governor.
They warned Governor WIKE against what they consider as disgraceful and disgusting mischief against the wife of their leader and former governor, ROTIMI AMAECHI.
The group urged Governor WIKE to tender an unreserved apology to the former First Lady or be ready to face the consequences.
