Some of the residents in an interview with Todayfm’s Sandra Kenneth, said they have been trying to rechannel the waters locally.
The residents also said their efforts have proven abortive as properties were destroyed and some of them left homeless.
They however, accused the government of failing to live up to standard in ensuring that quality roads and drainages are built in the area.
The residents further called on the state and local government authorities to come up with a permanent solution to the issue.
