Few days after authorities in Ikwerre Local Government set up Flood Management Committee, the Authorities of Ahoada West Local Government Area have also set up and inaugurated a 2023 flood management Committee.
The Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hope Ikiriko said the twelve man flood management Committee will among other basic things, ensure pre-flood management and post-flood management.
Ikiriko however, charged members of the committee to proffer solutions that will cushion the effect of the impending flood disaster on the people of Ahoada West, and possible humanitarian challenges that might be triggered following the prediction.
The Chairman of the Flood Management Committee, Lamege Okwazi who spoke on behalf of members of the committee, commended the council chairman for the move, and promised to carry out the assignment diligently.
