A victim of the fire incident, identified as Esther, told Today FM that the fire started from the room of a woman who allegedly left her cooking gas on and went out to the hospital.
Esther said the gas cooker which exploded from the room, spread to other apartments and burnt it down so fast that the occupants of the compound were unable to save any property from the building.
She said firefighters did not show up, until the building was razed down.
Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor, who have visited the scene of the incident, reports that men of the Nigeria Police Force from Mile one Police Divisional Headquarters, were present at the scene of the incident to prevent hoodlums from stealing any property in the affected buildings.
