FG to spend N210 million to build cultural centers in Nigeria.

LAI MOHAMMED gave this indication when he appeared before members of the Senate Committee on Culture and Tourism during a budget defence session.

MOHAMMED also disclosed that the Ministry has so far established over twelve cultural centres across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

On the 2017 Budget; the Minister noted the ministry was looking at an expenditure of three point five billion naira.

In his response; the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Culture and Tourism, Senator MATTHEW URHOGHIDE said the revenue generated by the sector was not acceptable.

Senator URHOGHIDE called on the Ministry of Information and Culture to do everything necessary to reduce wastage in the culture and tourism sector.
