This was made known by the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority, HADIZA BALA-USMAN, during an inspection visit to the Onne Seaport in Rivers State.
Speaking after commissioning an Injection Substation that is connected to the national grid, BALA-USMAN said the facility would help solve the electricity problem at the port.
The NPA boss expressed worry that some ports operators have been involved in sharp practices, adding that the NPA was working seriously to resolve issues of revenue leakages in the system.
She also said enhancing transparency in the system had been the most challenging task confronting the current management of the NPA.
