The Minister of Information and Culture, ALhaji LAI MOHAMMED gave this indication during a media briefing in Abuja to confirm the release of the Chibok girls.
The Minister said government has assembled a team of doctors, nurses and paramedics to oversee the rehabilitation of the freed girls in Abuja.
LAI MOHAMMED said the girls were released around 5.30AM today and flown to Kaduna.
MOHAMMED described the development as the most glaring manifestation to date of the unwavering commitment of President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to secure the safe release of the girls and reunite them with their families.
He also said it marked a credible first step in the eventual release of all the Chibok schoolgirls in captivity.
The Minister said it was a major step in confidence-building between the government and the Boko Haram leadership on the issue of the Chibok Girls.
