The Minister of Agriculture, Mohammed Nanono made the observation on a television interview.
The Minster noted that the railway system is critical in a country as big as Nigeria to enable the easy transportation of farm produce across the country.
The Minister further disclosed that hoarding by major players in the oil industry also contributes the rising cost of food items.
