The Federal Government has assured Nigerians that passports will now be delivered within one week of enrolment, following reforms in the issuance process.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, gave the assurance in Abuja during the ministry’s mid-tenure performance retreat.
He explained that the new system was introduced to end long delays and eliminate extortion, which previously forced citizens to wait up to six or seven months or pay as much as ₦200,000 to fast-track their applications.
