The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a public holiday to commemorate this year’s Workers’ Day Celebration. The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued on Tuesday.
In his address, Tunji-Ojo expressed gratitude to workers across the country for their hard work and dedication, stating that their contributions are vital to Nigeria’s progress and the respect it garners on the global stage. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging the role of the workforce in fostering national development.
The Minister also highlighted the necessity of peace as a foundation for driving industrialization and economic growth, urging all stakeholders to work towards a harmonious environment conducive to progress.
