FCT Workers Suspend Strike After Wike’s Assurance

Workers in the Federal Capital Territory have suspended their industrial action following assurances from the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, that no worker will be victimised over participation in the strike. Labour unions also agreed to withdraw a lawsuit filed against the FCT Administration after negotiations with government officials.

The strike, which affected essential services in the nation’s capital, was called off after union leaders said their key concerns had been addressed. Workers have since been directed to resume duty across ministries, departments and agencies.

Union leaders stated that while work has resumed, they will continue to monitor the implementation of agreements reached with the FCT Administration. They warned that failure to honour the terms could lead to renewed action.
