The South South zonal coordinator of FCPC, Ahmad Garuba who made this known in an interview with Today FM’s Sandra Kenneth, frowned at the practice of short-changing consumers, stating that some persons involved in the act have been apprehended.
Garuba charged traders to be mindful of their obligations under the buying and selling act, while also threatening to ensure that those found guilty face the wrath of the law.
Garuba while urging consumers to ensure that their goods are weighed, advised them to report cases of illegality to the commission.
Garba also raised concern over the high number of complaints from electricity consumers in the south, which ranges from lack of prepaid meters to estimated bills and epileptic power supply.
