FCCPC Destroys Over ₦25 Million Worth of Fake and Expired Products

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has seized and destroyed counterfeit, adulterated, and expired products valued at more than ₦25 million as part of its ongoing Ember Season enforcement campaign.

Speaking on the development, the FCCPC South-South Zonal Coordinator, Uchegbu Chukwuma, said the exercise was undertaken to protect consumers from unsafe and substandard goods capable of endangering public health.

Chukwuma urged consumers to be extra vigilant during the festive season, noting that counterfeit products typically increase at this time of year. He advised buyers to thoroughly check products and verify expiry dates before making purchases.

He also assured the public that the FCCPC remains committed to addressing all complaints brought before the commission and will continue working to safeguard consumer rights across the country.
