Family of Sleek wrongly murdered by defunct SARS operatives in Port Harcourt drags IGP to Court

The family of Late Sleek who are seeking justice for the murder of their son also wants the court to award the sum of one billion naira as compensation in their favour against the defendants.

 

When the matter came up in court, Justice S.C Amadi granted the plaintiff counsel leaf to move a motion for the enforcement of fundamental Human Rights against the defendants after confirming that they have been duly served without responses and were not present at the court.

 

Justice Amadi thereafter adjourned to the 23rd of November, 2020 for ruling on the motion for enforcement of human Rights.

 

Speaking to newsmen outside the court, counsel to the family of late Sleek, Noble Njoku while narrating what transpired in court, claimed that the absence of the defendants in court could mean that they lack what to present before the court.

 

 

 

 

Dominic Ikeaguchi-Oyekwu who is the father of late Sleek told Correspondent Uchendu Ejiowhor that although the one billion naira demand may not bring back his late son, it will serve as a lesson to trigger-happy police personnel.

 

 

It would interest you to know that Sleek was allegedly murdered by Operatives of the Anti-Kidnap Unit of the Rivers State Police Command around Elelenwo Community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the State.
