Falana Urges FG to Intervene in Alleged Anti-Union Contract at Dangote Refinery

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, has called on the Federal Government to intervene in what he described as an attempt by Dangote Refinery owner, Aliko Dangote, to compel newly hired drivers to sign contracts barring them from joining established unions in the oil and gas sector.

Falana warned that such practices undermine workers’ constitutional rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining.

Meanwhile, both the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) and the Direct Trucking Company Drivers Association (DTCDA) have distanced themselves from the planned strike organized by the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG).
