The party, in a State Working Committee emergency meeting, urged Beke to sustain, lead, and champion the popular demand of the party membership across the three hundred and nineteen wards in Rivers State.
In a statement, the APC Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, said the move will help the party recover, through Constitutional means at the Election Petitions Tribunal, its mandate he said was stolen during the general election.
The State Working Committee also condemned the attack on the party Governorship candidate, Patrick Tonye-Cole,on Monday, by thugs allegedly sponsored by the ruling PDP in the state.
Nwauju said the SWC also reiterated the party’s stand that the Resident Electoral Commissioner in-charge of INEC in Rivers State, release all documents irelevant for the filing of the party’s petitions at the EPT.

The Director of Publicity and Communications of the PDP Campaign Council, Ogbonna Nwuke, said this in a statement.
He claimed that the action of the APC candidate in the last governorship election has led to the death of a PDP member.
Ogbonna Nwuke also assured that the PDP will do all in its power to ensure that the killers of the slain PDP member are brought to book.
