Ghana Premier League side Bechem United have signed former Manchester City youth player Mohammed Aminu ahead of the 2025/26 league campaign, according to 3news.com.
Aminu, a talented midfielder, returned to Ghana with high expectations after spending several years honing his skills in Europe’s top academies.
The 24-year-old’s transfer is seen as a major boost to Bechem United’s ambitions this season and beyond.
Aminu’s experience training under world-class coaches and alongside top young talents in Europe will likely inject creativity, vision, and energy into Bechem United’s midfield.
Aminu’s journey to stardom was marked by promise, with a £2 million transfer fee from WAFA to Manchester City in 2017.
However, he struggled to find consistency and was eventually released in 2022.
Aminu was first spotted at the 2017 Al Kass Tournament, while representing Red Bull Salzburg, the parent of his club WAFA.
After being scouted by the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, Aminu agreed a deal to join Premier League champions Manchester City in 2017.
In April 2018, after scoring three goals in four games, Aminu was named Ghanaian Premier League Player of the Month.
In October 2020, Aminu and teammate Thomas Agyepong joined Belgian First Division B side Lommel S.K. on loan until the end of the 2020–21 season.
He featured for Ghana at Under-17 level and made three appearances in 2017.
