Ex Head of State Abubakar debunks imposing 1999 constitution on Nigerians

Abubakar, who spoke on a live television programme said a constitutional committee headed by late Justice Nikky Toby went round the six geo-political zones of the country and gathered inputs from Nigerians before the document was finally enacted.

 

The former Head of State however; wondered what Nigerian lawmakers since 1999 have been doing about amending or changing the constitution if they feel the current one is not perfect.

 

 

Speaking on the continued farmers-herders crisis, the former Head of state said it is unfortunate that some herdsmen now bear arms, just as he called on the federal government to stop the proliferation of small arms and light weapons in the country.
