Ex APC Chairman Odigie-Oyegun backs party’s re-validation and registration exercise

Odigie-Oyegun described the exercise as a necessary step to clean up the party register and provide a level playing field for all members.

He spoke few days after the pioneer Interim National Chairman of the APC; Bisi Akande criticized the exercise, describing it as unnecessary.

Akande had argued that no population census is repeated within less than a decade and voters are not re-registered at every election.

The exercise has in the meantime; commenced in Lagos, Osun, Kastina, Imo, Delta, Niger States and others.

But the party membership registration exercise in Kwara State ended abruptly last week as violence marred the exercise; no fewer than ten members of the party sustained serious injuries while the crisis lasted.

The exercise is expected to commence in Rivers state tomorrow where training of adhoc staff for the exercise has commenced, as well as mobilization of new and intending members of the APC
