Resourced persons at the event stressed the need for increased awareness on exclusive breastfeeding as a means of providing ideal food for healthy growth and development of infants.
A representative of the Federal Ministry of Health and Director of Nutrition in the ministry, Doctor CHRIS ISOKO said government has developed a master plan on exclusive breastfeeding.
International partners at the event, drawn from the World Health Organisation and the United Nations Children Fund stated that breast milk promotes sensory and cognitive development of infants and protects them against infectious and chronic diseases.
