MBUCHI NJOKU was reportedly shot dead at the Umuebulu waterside last Friday and the family of the deceased accused the House of Assembly member of complicity in the crime.
But speaking in an interview with our correspondent, TONY EJIOGU said there was no reason for him to want to kill the man.
The Etche politician, who doubles as the Paramount Ruler of Umuebulu, advised all parties to allow the police to do their work.
EJIOGU also threatened to take action against those that are circulating falsehood against him.
The wife of late MBUCHI NJOKU recounted to our correspondent FELIX OJOGWU how she was at home when she received the news of the untimely death of her husband.
VICTORIA NJOKU requested government authorities and security agencies to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure that those who killed her husband do not go unpunished.
Also speaking, the Youth President of Umuebulu, TONY ANELE said NBUCHI NJOKU was alleged shot dead by armed men at the riverside within the community last Friday.
