Entrepreneur Christopher Okonkwo Blames Fuel Subsidy Removal for Worsening Hardship, Urges Nigerians to Vote Out Tinubu in 2027

Prominent entrepreneur and member of the Board of Trustees of Port Harcourt Club 1928, Christopher Okonkwo, has attributed the current economic hardship in Nigeria to the removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking on Thursday, Okonkwo said the policy has led to widespread suffering among Nigerian families, pushing many deeper into poverty as the cost of living continues to rise.

According to him, the already difficult situation is compounded by the poor state of roads across the country, which has negatively impacted transportation and the movement of goods.

“The removal of petrol subsidy by President Tinubu is the major reason for the unbearable hardship being faced by ordinary Nigerians today. It was a harsh decision without sufficient cushioning measures for the masses,” Okonkwo stated.

He called on Nigerians to rally behind a newly formed political coalition aimed at ending what he described as “the hardship and mismanagement of the current administration.” Okonkwo urged citizens to unite and vote out the Tinubu-led government in the 2027 general elections.
