A Social-cultural group under the aegis of Odegu General Assembly who made the allegation was reacting to the gas pipeline explosion that occurred in the area two weeks ago.
The group also faulted reports from some quarters that no life was lost through the explosion.
It urged the Department of Petroleum Resources to urgently put in place measures to enable it carry out joint inspection of the explosion site to ascertain the cause of the explosion.
The Odegu General Assembly also demanded that the company immediately put up modalities to ensure the cleanup of the environment to avert further destruction on the affected area.
They equally called for the quick release of available relief materials, good portable water and payment of hospital bills of the people admitted to cushion the effect of the said incidence.
The position of the group was made know in a communiqué which was read by the chairman, EKE EMENIKE GEOFFREY at the end of its meeting held in Port Harcourt.
