Emeohua community leaders welcome peace in Area following Amnesty

The traditional rulers have also commended the repentant cultists and criminals for the courage to surrender their arms and embrace amnesty.

Chief KINGSLEY EJIKE WOFURU-NYENKE who is the traditional ruler of Omusunu in Ibaa and Obelle Clan, advised criminal elements who are yet to surrender to take advantage of the sixty-day window offered by the state government.

On his part; Chief SAMPSON OVUA who has been locked in a legal battle with Chief EJIKEME NYENKE over the chieftaincy stool of Ibaa, expressed regret about the damage to the community due to cult violence.

In a statement obtained by our correspondent, Chief SAMPSON OVUA expressed confidence that the offer of amnesty to repentant cultists was genuine.

The traditional ruler also advised those who are still engaged in cultism to turn a new leaf and take advantage of the amnesty programme.
