This is because the lawyers for the APC candidate, LEO ANYANWU have been instructed to appeal the dismissal of the petition based on the objection of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

LEO ANYANWU of the APC is challenging the qualification of KELECHI WOGU of the Peoples Democratic Party to stand for the election.

Omuma Chairman of APC, CHARLES AMAEFULE who confirmed the development to our correspondent, said the tribunal did not take into account the substance of the petition in its ruling.

AMAEFULE said the ruling of the tribunal in dismissing the petition was based on technical grounds, and he expressed hope that LEO ANYWANWU would win at the Appeal Court.

CHARLES AMAEFULE is the Chairman of the APC in Omuma Local Government Area of Rivers State.
