The paramount rulers, who protested to the gate of the company in the area, decried lack of health care facilities and free education in their communities.
They faulted the oil multi-national for failing to fulfill their corporate social responsibilities, despite profits it makes from the communities.
The Ochi-Ohna of Oboburu community, His Royal Highness Azubuike DIBIA, lamented that the multi-national has also failed to give some Paramount rulers in the kingdom their entitlements.
On his part, His Royal Highness Isaac Ogbuzor and His Royal highness Jokiel God Power, said all their rights have been taken away, noting that feeding has become difficult for families.
They claimed they have consulted with the company on several occasions, and got no positive feedback.
Today FM’s Sandra Kenneth reports that Total Energies has responded to their protest and requested for a meeting, but the traditional rulers insists if the meeting is not in their favor, they will return to protest in another dimension.
