Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the outing tagged “Walk Against Corruption” drew stakeholders from civil societies organisations, the academia and labour unions.
The demonstrators also grounded traffic on major routes leading into the Abuja city centre, making it difficult for the free flow of traffic.
In His remarks, the Acting Chairman of EFCC, IBRAHIM MAGU said the walk against corruption ?was put together to create a united front of all Nigerians in the fight against the menace.
MAGU encouraged Nigerians to buy into the whistle blowing policy of the Federal Government, just as he warned those who engage in looting that the EFCC was watching.
He noted that while the current administration was working hard to rid the country of corruption, looters are meeting in air conditioned mansions to plot the fall of the country.
The Nigerian Police, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp and other paramilitary agencies were on ground to provide security for the road walk?.
