The EFCC said the monies, including local and foreign currencies, were recovered from treasury looters between January and August this year.
Acting EFCC Chairman, IBRAHIM MAGU, made the revelation in a presentation to a public lecture to mark the twentieth anniversary of the Finance Correspondence Association of Nigeria, which held in Abuja.
The EFCC Chairman who was represented by the Head of Public Interface, TONY ORILADE, emphasized that corruption remains the single major problem that is obstructing Nigeria’s development.
ORILADE also disclosed that all the recovered looted funds are lodged in the Recovery Fund Account with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
