The twist added to the controversy with the counter accusation by some of judges of attempted bribe against some political office holders is also sustaining public discourse.
Among the latest to intervene in the matter is a senior lawyer, TUNJI ABAYOMI who played down the accusation against the Minister of Transport, ROTIMI AMAECHI.
The Lagos-based legal practitioner argued on a national television earlier today that no court of law can convict the former Governor of Rivers State of the basis of alleged visit to any judge.
In the meantime; the All Progressives Congress in ROTIMI AMAECHI’s Ikwerre Local Government Area in Rivers State has passed a confidence vote in his favour.
The Local Government Chairman of the APC, BEN ODIGWE told newsmen at the end of a stakeholders meeting that the allegations against AMAECHI are baseless.
ODIGWE also backed the position by the Nigerian Bar Association and the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria that the judges under investigation should step aside.
BEN ODIGWE is the Chairman of the APC in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
